Editorial

After an artistically rich summer with the recording and concerts of Benjamin Brittens works for strings given by the set European Camerata, the Master Class and concerts given by Venance Fortunat, the Centre of European Culture participation in the "festival Nuis Romanes" and the photographer Suzanne Hetzels residence, we are entering into an academically promising year.
The CEC network holds the place of honour: last week saw the end to the third encounter of culture and citizenship of the CEC Europolis de Calarasi (Romania). It is next with the Baden-Baden CEC tha we will share our teams for the sixth encounter in November. In march we will hold the first encounter of the Centre de Culture Euroméditerranéen in Marrakech before visiting our Italien friends in Fidenza (Italy), this will be the CEC Sigeric third encounter.
There are still possibilities to participate in the encounters within the network or in the Saint-Jean d'Angély Centre. (calendar - enrol)

Just after the return home from Romania, we will get down to another chapter of our activities with the second edition of the Automn University "Parler du patrimoine roman: médiation et interprétation", an important part of the Plan Régional Art Roman. At this occasion we have published with L'Harmattan the works of the inaugural University in October 2005.

Thank you to all those who via their expression of gratitude and their enthousiasm allow us to pursue our adventure.

- 2nd Automn University of heritage mediators

Launched by the Région Poitou-Charentes in May 2005, the Plan Régional Art Roman aims to allow to see and understand heritage in a dynamic and modern way. All this contributes to make heritage accessible to all and to participate in the cultural development of the different territories.

To make known to a larger public the understanding of heritage, a vast reflexion was iniciated during the first edition of the Automn University which was held in October 2005 at the Royal Abbey of Saint-Jean d'Angély. This event was organised by the Region Poitou-Charentes.

This first encounter was the occasion to hold an interprofessional confrontation which was particullarly rich: conferences and workshops with varied themes allowed the participants to cross their pedagogical approaches, their needs, their objectives and to work on the didactic of cultural mediation. The idea being to build a base for an innovative program for heritage education.

The second edition of the Automn University for heritage mediation professionals will be held form the 16th-18th October 2006. This year a European note will be given to the University: the notion of a European Romanesque heritage and it's perception within different European countries will be the heart of the presentations.
