Editorial
Summer is here... When we close our eyes we can see hundreds of faces, the
laughs, the consternations, the enthousiasm, the questionning, the joy,
the tears and the unique gestures of the young Europeans who met this year
in Călăraşi (Romania), Fidenza (Italy) and in Saint-Jean d'Angély.
Few of them returned to their home country without telling us how much
this experience was important for them and how much they deplore the lack
of information and European training courses in their daily lives. To
meditate.
Summer is here... make way for the
artists and creation! Suzanne Hetzel; photographer; European Camerata;unique
chamber ensemble;Venance Fortunat and the "Nuits Romanes"
invites you once again and as always to new and rich encounters.

- Suzanne Hetzels' Résidence, photographer
From 16th August untill the 15th
September 2006 Suzanne Hetzel is coming back to Saint Jean d'Angély.
Suzanne Hetzels' work is founded on the relations which she nurishes with
a population in a determined area. She proposes the use of photography on
a collective mode of exchang, experiences and expression. A negociation
process is put into place in order to define the conditions of
participation of each person. What belongs to me that I am prepared to
show? What image does one give of oneself?
It is likely that she invests the significatif places of the town of
Saint-Jean d'Angély and the Pays Vals de Saintonge and create an "in
situ" exhibition...

- Let's communicate : Socrates
Grundtvig 2 project
Good news for the Centre of European
Culture: the Grundtvig2 educative partnership "Let's communicate"
of which it is the co-ordinator has seen it's second year application
accepted. The aim of this project is to encourage migrants to learn the
language of their host community to ensure a better integration.
The project is implemented in France, Norway, Portugal and Belgium.
Teachers in adult education learn new methodologies in terms of language
teaching and implement them in their institutions. The adult teachers
participate in different activities which are set up for them within the
framework of the partnership.
