AUTUMN UNIVERSITY - TALK ABOUT ROMANESQUE HERITAGE

Launched in May 2005 by the Poitou-Charentes region, the Regional Romanesque Art Plan aims to present and understand heritage in a modern and open dynamic. Other aims of this program are to facilitate the access to culture for all and to participate in the cultural development of the territories.

In order to facilitate the knowledge and understanding of heritage a vast reflection was initiated during the first edition on the autumn university organised in October 2005 by the Poitou-Charentes region at the Royal Abbey in Saint-Jean d'Angély.

This first encounter was saw the light of a very rich inter-professional confrontation; conferences and workshops on various themes allowed the participants to cross their pedagogies, their objectives and carry our work on the didactics of cultural mediation.

The second edition was held on the 16th - 18th October 2006. This time round a European reflection was added; the notion of a European Romanesque heritage and its perception in different European countries.

The third edition was entitled « Romanesque art : a religious art » and was held from the 15th - 17th October 2007.
