PEDAGOGY AND DOCUMENTS

The spirit in which the encounters take place implies beforehand preparation and may be carried on once the encounter has come to an end. It is effectively necessary to;

Familiarise the youngsters with the theme of the encounter
Prepare with them the presentation of their country, region town
Prepare with them an exposé, as creative as possible, on a series of current European questions which will be presented to the group at the end of the encounter
Elect one spokesperson per ten youngsters. The spokespersons will help communicate between the staff and the group throughout the encounter.

Following the encounter we naturally wish that the links made and friendships found continue, but also that each national group presents its' experience in the form of an exhibition, show, European evening, etc.

 

Results remarked by participating institutions:

Concerning the youngsters' skills;
Better oral communication in public either in their mother tongue or in foreign languages
Initiative taking becomes much easier.
Their minds are opened and they become more tolerant regarding other languages
They acquire more autonomy noted mainly by a progression in the documents which they produce, research made, reports written,
Motivation is shown within the school when it comes to participating and, or organising punctual social or artistic events.

Concerning social studies
A better ability to work in a group, to communicate, to participate in debates by expressing oneself more clearly even to camerads form other countries.
A growth in the conscious of the values of solidarity, the opening of the mind regarding others and to point of views that are not their own.
The acquisition of the capacity to develop a mutual confidence, the development of the capacity to assume responsibilities, to motivate other youngsters and adults according to a common project, to propose solutions to complex problems.
The growth of the capacity to make decisions, the acquisition of a better understanding of the democratical functioning of our countries
The acquisition of an awareness of their own personality in a local, national and European context
A better understanding of the process that conducts to the development of prejudices, social injustice, discrimination and racism
